Application
Fenticonazole Nitrate: An Imidazole Antifungal Agent
Fenticonazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal agent with a broad spectrum of antimycotic activity against dermatophytes and yeasts. The main mechanism of action of fenticonazole is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of aspartic protease, a virulence enzyme of fungus. Fenticonazole has activity against Gram-positive bacteria, but no activity against Gram-negative bacteria. Fenticonazole used as a racemic mixture in therapy. (The product is for research purpose only.)
