Geniposide: An Iridoid Glucoside with Various Biological Activities
Geniposide, an iridoid glucoside, is found in Gardenia jasminoides which is a traditional medicine used for the treatment of inflammation, hepatic and gall bladder diseases. It has been reported that geniposide exerts various biological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, anti-diabetic, neuroprotective, hepatoprotective, cholagogic, and anticancer effects.
