Application
Pneumocandin B0: A Naturally Occurring Lipophilic Cyclic Peptide with Antifungal Activity
Pneumocandin B0 is a naturally occurring lipophilic cyclic peptide isolated from the fungus, Glarea lozoyensis. It is a potent antifungal agent and acts by inhibiting the synthesis of β-(1,3)-D-glucan, an essential component of the cell wall of susceptible fungi. Pneumocandin B0 is also used as a starting molecule for some semisynthetic antifungal agents, such as caspofungin. (The product is for research purpose only.)
