Application
Rebaudioside A: A Sweet Tasting Diterpene Contained in the Leaves of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni
Rebaudioside A is a sweet tasting diterpene, and is one of the major steviol glycoside extracted from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni which is an ancient perennial shrub of South America.1,2) High-purity rebaudioside A is a non-calorie sweetener 200-300 times more potent than sucrose.2,3) A number of studies have suggested that steviol glycosides, including rebaudioside A, possess therapeutic, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antifungal activities.2,3) Rebaudioside A is hydrolyzed to its aglycon steviol by human intestinal microflora.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
