Highly Flame-retardant Electrolyte Additive for Lithium-ion Battery

TFEP [E1456] is a cyclic phosphate ester with high flame retardance, and has high oxidation potential because of containing fluorine atoms. It has been reported that the use of TFEP improves battery cycle characteristics due to high solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film formation capability. Lithium-ion batteries with TFEP can have high capacity by forming cathode electrolyte interface (CEI) layer on NMC cathode.

Fluorine-Free and Thermally-Stable Electrolyte for Lithium Ion Battery

Lithium bis(oxalate)borate [L0367] is a lithium salt with high solid electrolyte-interphase (SEI) forming ability and thermal stability. L0367 has been reported to suppress battery deterioration of lithium ion battery (LIB) and to improve LIB cycle life. Researchers use L0367 as an alternative of traditional electrolytes or as an additive with traditional electrolytes.

Practical Lithium Ion Battery Electrolytes with Low Water Content

In lithium-ion secondary batteries, the presence of water has a critical effect on battery degradation. It can be occurred by the hydrofluoric acid derivatives generated by the reaction of water with some fluorine-containing chemicals (additives) in electrolyte. To minimize battery degradation, TCI controls and guarantees the water content (<1000ppm) of three standard solid electrolytes, lithium hexafluorophosphate [L0146], lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide [B2542] and lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide [L0281].
