Xylemin - (a Polyamine Inducing Xylem Differentiation) and Synthetic Proauxin
Xylemin dihydrochloride (1) is a polyamine whose unique function was reported by Takahashi and Motose et al.1)1 promotes xylem differentiation with a synthetic proauxin (2,4-D IOE, 2) by the inhibition of biosynthesis of thermospermine, which suppresses xylem differentiation. 1 is anticipated to be used in the research and development of agrochemicals and biomass energy.
