Bradford Assay Solution for Quantification of Protein Concentration

When Coomassie brilliant blue G-250 (CBB G-250) binds to a protein, its maximum absorption wavelength shifts from 465 nm to 595 nm. When this principle is taken advantage of to measure protein concentration, it is referred to as the Bradford method.¹⁾ The Bradford method is advantageous when attempting to measure the concentration of proteins over 1 µg/mL, as the ratio of sample to CBB G-250 solution can be adjusted.²⁾ Bradford assay solution is suitable for protein quantification via the Bradford method and is less affected by the presence of reducing agents and chelating agents. As a ready-to-use solution it also allows for results to be obtained in only 5 minutes.
