Endogenous Biotin-Blocking Reagent Useful for Immunostaining
Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, acts as a coenzyme in the energy metabolism of amino acids and fatty acids in vivo.1) High concentrations of biotin in tissues such as kidney, liver, and mammary tissue can lead to high background in avidin/biotin-based immunostaining.2) Avidin / biotin blocking kit (1) suppresses non-specific staining caused by endogenous biotin by using the included avidin solution and biotin solution. Each solution is contained in a dropper bottle, allowing for easy and accurate operation.
