Application

Nelarabine: A Prodrug of Ara-G, an Inhibitor of DNA Replication in T-Leukemic Cells

Nelarabine is a prodrug of ara-G [A2739], a nucleoside antitumor antimetabolite. Nelarabine is demethylated by adenosine deaminase (ADA) to ara-G, triphosphorylated by multiple kinases intracellularly to the active nucleotide, ara-GTP1,1) which inhibits the DNA replication in T-leukemic cells.2) From the 2000s, nelarabine have been introduced and used for the treatment of T-All and T-LBL.3,4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
