3-Methyladenine (3-MA): A PI3K inhibitor - An Autophagy Inhibitor

3-Methyladenine (3-MA) inhibits phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3K) such as wortmannin [W0007], and is generally used as an inhibitor of autophagy which is an intracellular degradation system that delivers cytoplasmic constituents to the lysosome. Recently, in addition to its role in autophagy, 3-MA has been implicated in cancer research. (The product is for research purpose only.)
