A C-Arylation of N-Tosyl Aziridines


Experimental procedure: A mixture of 1 (1 mmol, 273 mg), anisole (2 mmol, 100 μL) and AgPF6 (0.02 mmol, 5 mg) in 3 mL of dry dichloroethane are stirred at 30 - 35 °C. Then the reaction mixture is diluted with water (5 mL) and extracted with dichloroethane (5 mL). The combined organic layers are dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, concentrated in vacuo and the resulting product is purified by column chromatography on silica gel (ethyl acetate : petroleum ether = 1 : 10) to afford 2 (305 mg, 80% yield).
