L-DOPA (Levodopa): A Precursor in the Biosynthesis of Dopamine
L-DOPA (Levodopa) is a bio-derivative of amino acid L-tyrosine [T0550]. It is a precursor in the biosynthesis of dopamine [A0305], noradrenaline [A0906] and adrenaline [A0173], and is used to increase dopamine levels in brain.
