(±)-Bay K 8644: A Dihydropyridine Calcium Channel Agonist
(±)-Bay K 8644, a structural analog of nifedipine [N0528] (a calcium channel antagonist), is a dihydropyridine calcium channel agonist. It is a racemic mixture composed of two optical isomers, (4R)-(+) and (4S)-(-) forms. (±)-Bay K 8644 has similar effects as its (4S)-(-) form, which activates voltage-sensitive L-type calcium channels. (The product is for research purpose only.)
