AmpC β-lactamase inhibitor
The primary resistance mechanism of microbes to β-lactam antibiotics is hydrolysis of the antibiotics by β-lactamase.1) 2-Methylphenylboronic acid is one of boronic acid compounds inhibiting β-lactamase from Pseudomonas aeruginosa.2) The inhibitory constant (Ki) to the enzyme is 15 ± 1 μM.
