PI Polyamide Raw Materials that Recognize DNA Sequences

PIPs (pyrrole-imidazole (Py-Im) polyamides) are polyamides with 1-methylpyrrole (Py) and 1-methylimidazole (Im) as units. Within PIPs, amino and carbonyl groups sides are known to form Py/Py or Py/Im pairs, in which the amino and carbonyl groups face each other in antiparallel. PIPs recognize specific DNA base pairs via hydrogen bonds, enter the minor-groove of the DNA double helix to bind sequence-selectively. By changing the sequence of Py and Im, it is possible to design and bind to any DNA base sequences. TCI has Boc-Im-OH [B6350], Fmoc-Im-OH [F1313], Boc-Py-OH [B6351] and Fmoc-Py-OH [F1314], amino groups of which are protected by Boc or Fmoc, as raw materials for the synthesis of PIPs. In addition, the PyIm block Fmoc-PyIm-OH [F1315], which is difficult to lengthen by solid-phase synthesis, is also available. Odorless Reagent for the Introduction of S-tert-Butyl Group

Odorless Reagent for the Introduction of S-tert-Butyl Group

2-(tert-Butyl)isothiouronium bromide [B6315] is an odorless solid utilized as a reagent to introduce the tert-butylthio group. For instance, introduction of the tert-butylthio group proceeds by treating B6315 with aryl halides in high yields in the presence of palladium catalyst. In addition, the tert-butyl group can be removed by treating with Brønsted acid or Lewis acid and a thioketal is afforded in the presence of acetone. On the other hand, by adding a catalytic amount of base, B6315 can introduce the tert-butylthio group to ethyl bromoacetate. Construction of the Nucleoside Phosphoramidite Using DCI

We are proud to present the condensation reaction of benzoic acid and benzylamine using 2,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenylboronic acid [B3022] as a catalyst. The reaction produces water only as a by-product. The catalyst can be removed by a partition with basic water solution.
