At TCI, we support discovery in life sciences through our knowledge and expertise in organic small molecules. This issue covers our life science topics as follows:
- G4 Ligands
- Bifunctional Chelators (BFCs) for Radiopharma Development
- Streptavidins and Related Reagents
- Xanthine Oxidase (XO) Activity Assay Kit
- TCIMAIL 198

G4 Ligands
Recently, guanine quadruplex (G4) is also found to be abundant in telomere regions and promoter regions of cancer-related genes and small molecule ligands that coordinate specifically to G4 have been reported. We have a lineup of representative G4 ligands such as Pyridostatin Pentatrifluoroacetate [P3244] and Phen-DC3 [P3182], which show telomerase inhibitory activity and are used as positive controls. BMVC [B6654] and BMVC2 [B6675] are also used for G4 detection because their fluorescence intensity increases after coordination.

Bifunctional Chelators (BFCs) for Radiopharma Development
Theranostics which uses chelators with appropriate radioisotopes as a drug for both diagnosis and treatment in the field of radiotherapy, is gaining more attention. TCI offers bifunctional chelators (BFCs) for research purposes, incorporating bioconjugatable functional groups into DOTA, and NODAGA which can chelate metals at lower temperatures than DOTA. Examples include Azido-mono-amide-DOTA [A3478] and Maleimide-NODAGA [M3771].

Streptavidins and Related Reagents
Streptavidin [S0951] is a protein produced by bacteria of the genus Streptomyces and is known to bind very tightly to biotin. The binding of biotin to streptavidin is used in a variety of biochemical experiments, including detection and purification. We offer Streptavidin FITC Conjugate [S0966] with a fluorescent dye and Streptavidin R-PE Conjugate [T3885] with a fluorescent protein.

Xanthine Oxidase (XO) Activity Assay Kit
XO (Xanthine Oxidase) Activity Assay Kit [X0091] is designed to measure xanthine oxidase activity in biological samples. Xanthine oxidase is an essential enzyme involved in purine metabolism, converting xanthine and hypoxanthine into uric acid. It is widely used in the research of various oxidative stress-related diseases, such as gout and hyperuricemia. This kit measures the hydrogen peroxide produced by the action of xanthine oxidase, allowing for the calculation of xanthine oxidase activity based on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide.
