Precious Metal Catalysts on Activated Carbon for Heterogeneous Selective Hydrogenation
It is reported that heterogeneous precious metal catalysts show different reactivities depending on both the pore size of the immobilized phase and manufacturing method. We have 14 product lineup Palladium 5% on Carbon, PH type [P3302], Platinum 3% on Carbon (Modified by Sulfur) [P3305], or Ruthenium 5% on Carbon, SD type [R0322]. Our catalysts are characterized by finely tuned acidity or basicity, dispersity and ease filtration property. The advantages of the catalysts will improve screening experiments and process development.

Divinyl Sulfone, a Useful Cross-linking Agent
Divinyl Sulfone [D0959] is a useful reagent for intermolecular bond formation because it has two electron-deficient vinyl groups. We have abundant experience in manufacturing divinyl sulfone and can supply it in large quantities. Examples of applications include activation of agarose gels for enzyme and protein fixation, cross-linking of hyaluronic acid, and cross-linking of the conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS, and it is also attracting attention as a battery additive.

Amidine-based Ligands for Cross-coupling Reactions of Aryl Bromides and Redox-active Esters
The introduction of alkyl groups onto aromatic rings has become increasingly important in recent years for drug discovery research and the development of functional compounds. Especially, organometallic reagent-free reactions and the extension of the scope to strained cyclic alkyls are of increasing interest, and reactions using alkyl halides and carboxylic acids as coupling partners have been vigorously developed. 5-Methoxypicolinimidamide Hydrochloride [M3794] is an electron-rich amidine ligand with a methoxy group and can be used in cross-couplings between aryl bromides and redox active esters.

The Synthesis of Rubicene through the Scholl Reaction
We are proud to present the synthesis of rubicene from 9,10-diphenylanthracene using DDQ [D1070] and Trifluoromethanesulfonic Acid (=TfOH) [T0751].
