Synthesis of α-Diazoketones

Compound 1 is a useful reagent for the synthesis of diazoketones. The compound 1 was reacted with acid chlorides followed by hydrolysis and then treated with triethylamine and a catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonyl chloride to give diazoketones 2.¹⁾ Moreover, the compound 1 has been used for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds 3 and 4.²⁾
