Application
Pemirolast Potassium: A Water-Soluble Inhibitor of Type I Allergy
Pemirolast potassium is a water-soluble inhibitor of type I allergy. Pharmacological studies indicate that it suppresses the formation of 1,2-diacylglycerol and phosphatidic acid, and the decrease in phosphatidylinositol (PI). It also can stabilize the cell membrane of mast cells, inhibit the inflow and release of Ca2＋, inhibit the activation of phosphodiesterase and increase the intracellular cAMP levels. Recently, some laboratory animal studies reported that it can reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. (The product is for research purpose only.)
