Description
- This product is supplied as a ready-to-use solution to lyse cultured E. coli / yeast cells. Extracted protein can be used in downstream applications such as Western blotting and protein quantification. This product does not include protease inhibitors.
 
Storage
- Store at 4 °C.
 
Directions for Use: Lysis of E. coli cells
-      
- Centrifuge E. coli cells at 5000 × g for 10 minutes.
 - Remove as much medium as possible from pellet.
 - Resuspend pellet in E.coli / Yeast Protein Extraction Buffer (Product No. Y0021). Use 5-10 mL buffer per gram pellet.
 - Incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
 - Centrifuge lysate at 15,000 × g for 10 minutes.
 - Transfer the supernatant, containing extracted proteins, to a new tube for downstream applications.
 
 
Directions for Use: Lysis of yeast cells

- Centrifuge yeast cells at 3000 × g for 10 minutes.
 - Remove as much medium as possible from pellet.
 - Resuspend pellet in E.coli / Yeast Protein Extraction Buffer (Product No. Y0021). Use 2-4 mL buffer per gram pellet.
 - Agitate at room temperature for 10 minutes.
 - Centrifuge lysate at 14,000 × g for 10 minutes.
 - Transfer the supernatant, containing extracted proteins, to a new tube for downstream applications.
