Application
tert-Butoxycarbonylating Reagent
Typical Procedure: To a solution of L-tryptophane (2.05 g, 10 mmol) and triethylamine (2.10 mL, 15 mmol) in water (6 mL) is added dioxane (6 mL) and 2-Boc-oxyimino-2-phenylacetonitrile (2.71 g, 11 mmol) at room temperature. The mixture becomes homogeneous within 1 h and stirring is continued for two more hours. After addition of water (15 mL) and EtOAc (20 mL), acidified with 5% citric acid solution, and extracted with EtOAc. The extract is treated in the usual manner to give the product (3.00 g, 99%).
