Application
Cefoperazone: A Third Generation Semisynthetic Cephalosporin Antibiotic with Activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Cefoperazone is a third generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic, which is chemically synthesized form 7-aminocephalosporanic acid (7-ACA) [A1266]. It has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Gram-positive bacteria except enterococci. Unlike other cephalosporins, cefoperazone is considerably excreted into the bile.
