Carnosic acid is a compound known as an abietane diterpene. According to the study using Staphylococcus aureus, carnosic acid (10 μg/ml) showed a 2-fold potentiation of tetracycline activity against XU212 (TetK possessing strain) and 8-fold potentiation of erythromycin activity against RN4220 (Msr possessing strain).1)
