Levomefolic acid (other names: (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, (6S)-5-methyl-THF, or L-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid) is the biologically active metabolite of folic acid (Vitamin B9) [F0043]. Levomefolic acid plays an essential role in the DNA synthesis, cysteine cycle and regulation of homocysteine.
