Sesamin: A Lignan with Antioxidant, Anti-Inflammatory and Anticancer Properties
Sesame seed (Sesamum indicum) and sesame oil are composed of their lignans such as sesamin. sesamol [S0418], sesaminol and sesamolin. 1) Sesamin has been reported to have anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-metastatic, anti- and pro-angiogenic, and pro-autophagocytic activities correlating to anticancer effects. 2,3) (The product is for research purpose only.)
