Sarsasapogenin: A Steroidal Sapogenin with a Variety of Biological Properties
Sarsasapogenin is a steroidal sapogenin isolated from sarsaparilla (Smilax sp.) and Anemarrhena asphodeloides which are used as traditional medicines.1,2) It has been reported that sarsasapogenin exerts a variety of properties, such as apoptotic effect2), antidepressant effect3), and improving memory4). (The product is for research purpose only.)
