Application
Bilobalide: A Bioactive Sesquiterpene in the Extract of Ginkgo Biloba
Bilobalide is a main constituent of the sesquiterpene obtained from the extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves. Recent year studies show that bilobalide plays very important role in neuroprotection. In 2007, bilobalide was found to be an antagonist at the GABAA receptors which effects may contribute to bilobalide's neuroprotective effects.
