Application
N4-Acetylcytidine: A Highly Conserved Modified RNA nucleoside

N4-Acetylcytidine (ac4C) is a highly conserved modified RNA nucleoside whose formation is catalyzed by the N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10). Recent studies have discovered that N4-acetylcytidine is a prevalent mRNA modification in eukaryotes and has roles in cell viability and development through these effects on RNA as follows; translation efficiency, mRNA stability, codon recognition, and tRNA structure, thereby opening up an emerging research field known as epitranscriptomics.
