1,8-Cineole (other name: eucalyptol), a bicyclic monoterpene, is a major compound of many plant essential oils, mainly found in Eucalyptus globulus oil.1) It has been reported that 1,8-cineole has diverse biological activities, including anti-inflammatory,2) anti-oxidant,2) ant-inociceptive,3) and insect repellent4) properties.
