Application
Cryptotanshinone: A Quinoid Diterpene with Versatile Pharmacological Effects
Cryptotanshinone, a quinoid diterpene, is one of the major tanshinones isolated from the roots of the plant Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge. Tanshinones has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for treatment of a variety of diseases. Cryptotanshinone has been reported that cryptotanshinone exhibits antioxidant1), antibacterial2), anti-inflammatory3) activities, and acetylcholinesterase inhibition.4) Recent studies have shown that cryptotanshinone has also anti-tumor activity.5,6) (The product is for research purpose only.)
