Desipramine hydrochloride: An Active Tricyclic Antidepressant
Desipramine hydrochloride, a metabolite of imipramine [I0971], is an active tricyclic antidepressant. While the precise mechanism of action of tricyclic antidepressants is unknown, many studies suggest that they restore normal levels of neurotransmitters, such as norepinephrine and serotonin, by blocking the reuptake of these substances from the synapse in the central nervous system. (The product is for research purpose only.)
