Acid Captor 9M: Effective Acid Captor of Mukaiyama Condensation Reaction
Experimental procedure: To a mixture of 2-chloro-1-methylpyridinium iodide (308 mg, 1.2 mmol) and acid captor 9M (388 mg, 2.4 mmol) is added an acetonitrile solution (18 mL) of a carboxylic and (1.0 mmol) and an amine (1.0 mmol) at room temperature under an argon atmosphere, and the reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 4 h. After evaporation of the solvent under reduced pressure the residue is separated by silica gel thin layer chromatography to give the corresponding amide.
