【Disposal】After dilution with twice the volume of toluene, ethyl acetate is added dropwise into the Grignard solution under ice cooling, then quenched by 10% ammonium chloride solution. The resulting organic and aqueous layers after a separation procedure are disposed. The aqueous layer should be neutralized before disposal. The above is only one example of inactivation and following the disposal procedures in our laboratory. You should take sufficient safety measures for proper disposal, observing the amount and condition of waste materials. In addition, you also need to comply with your local government regulations.
