Application
Ilaprazole: A Proton Pump Inhibitor with Superior Pharmacological Profile
Ilaprazole (IY-81149) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used in the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and duodenal ulcer in clinical.1,2) Compared with all other PPIs, ilaprazole has shown an extended plasma half-life, a metabolism not significantly influenced by CYP2C19 genetic polymorphism and similar safety.2) Ilaprazole can be used with clarithromycin [C2220] and amoxicillin [A2099] as a triple therapy regimen for eradicating Helicobacter pylori.3) In addition, there are reports that PPIs including ilaprazole suppresses cancer growth.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
