Description
- PKH 26 is a lipophilic carbocyanine dye used to label cell membranes. It emits strong fluorescence when its long hydrocarbon chains are incorporated into a lipid bilayer. This product is a ready-to-use solution of PKH 26 which can be used for cell proliferation and tracing studies.
Storage
- Store at room temperature (below 15 °C is recommended) and protect from light.
Note
- For Research Use Only. Not for Diagnostic or Therapeutic Use.
Direction for Use
-
- Dilute PKH 26 solution to 2 μM with culture medium.
- Remove medium from cells and replace with 2 μM PKH 26-containing medium.
- Incubate cells at room temperature for 5 minutes.
- Add a volume of fetal bovine serum (FBS) equivalent to the volume of medium used in step 2.
- Incubate cells at room temperature for 1 minute.
- Remove medium with FBS and wash cells 3 times with PBS.
- Observe stained cell membranes via a fluorescence microscope.
