Tri-n-butylvinyltin 1 reacts with organic electrophiles such as acid halides1) and vinyl triflates2) in the presence of palladium catalyst, and introduces a vinyl group into the electrophiles in high yield. Furthermore, 1 also readily undergoes palladium catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with hypervalent iodine compounds under mild conditions3).
