Dorsomorphin (Compound C) is used as an inhibitor of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling, and an inhibitor of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).
BMP plays a fundamental role in the regulation of bone organogenesis through the activation of receptor serine/threonine kinases, and BMP signaling regulates many different biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and embryogenesis. Dorsomorphin inhibit the BMP signaling.
AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a serine/threonine kinase, is an evolutionarily conserved energy sensor important for cell growth, proliferation, survival, and metabolic regulation. Dorsomorphin (Compound C) also inhibits the AMPK.
