Description

• Protein Gel Stain Tangerine is a fluorescent dye used to stain proteins in gels following SDS-PAGE. Its straightforward staining procedure enables the detection of proteins at concentrations as low as 5-10 ng. This product is fully miscible with water-based solvents, bypassing the use of harsh organic solvents to make it safe for use. When stained in the presence of salts such as 150 mM NaCl, proteins are not fixed in the gel and can be transferred to a blotting membrane. This enables downstream applications such as Western blotting. If protein fixation is to be carried out, this product should first be dissolved in a solution such as 7.5% (v/v) acetic acid. This product should not be used in solutions containing methanol, as methanol removes the SDS coating from proteins, markedly reducing the staining signal. After staining is completed, simply rinse the gel twice with water before imaging. This product exhibits excitation maxima at 290 nm and 490 nm and an emission maximum at 650 nm. Detection can be performed using a UV transillumination system or Imager. Please note that this product is not suitable for staining two-dimensional (2D) gels or isoelectric focusing (IEF) gels.

Storage

• Store at 4 °C. This product is photosensitive and should be protected from light. Use within 6 months.
