Nefiracetam (DM-9384) is a pyrrolidone nootropic agent being developed for the treatment of Alzheimer's type and poststroke vascular-type dementia. It has shown the ability to increase the activity of choline acetyltransferase in the hippocampus of animals. In addition, nefiracetam enhances the activity of neuronal L-type calcium channels under the regulation of inhibitory G-proteins and cyclic AMP-dependent processes. (The product is for research purpose only.)
