Application
Chlorfenapyr: A Potent Uncoupler of Oxidative Phosphorylation at the Mitochondria
Chlorfenapyr (AC-303630) is a broad-spectrum pyrrole insecticide for the control of agricultural pests. Chlorfenapyr is a prodrug, and oxidative removal of the N-ethoxymethyl group of chlorfenapyr by oxidases forms an active metabolite which uncouples oxidative phosphorylation at the mitochondria, resulting in disruption of production of ATP, cellular death, and ultimately organism mortality.
