Application
(S)-(+)-Rolipram: The Less Active Enantiomer of Rolipram, PDE4 Inhibitor
(S)-(+)-Rolipram is the less active enantiomer of the PDE4 inhibitor rolipram [R0110]. The active enantiomer (R)-(-)-rolipram [R0182] also available. It has been reported that (S)-(-)-rolipram is approximately 3 times less potent than (R)-(+)-rolipram against PDE4. In 2015, Kobayashi et al. have been reported a new multistep continuous-flow synthesis of (R)- and (S)-rolipram using only columns packed with heterogeneous catalysts. (The product is for research purpose only.)
