TCI is at the forefront of offering high quality materials for R&D. This issue covers our materials science topics as follows:
- Photo-Acid Generators (PAGs)
- Dopants for Organic Electronics Researches
- Graphene/CNT Nanocomposite: Gmit®
- New Polyimide Raw Materials
Photo-Acid Generators (PAGs)
Photo-acid generators (PAGs) are photo-sensitizers that undergo photolysis to generate acids. Such photo-acid generators are useful for various applications, because acids generated by photo-irradiation can be reactive species to promote cationic polymerizations and cross-linking reactions. Photo-acid generators consist of a photo absorber moiety and an acid generating source moiety. In ionic photo-acid generators, the cationic moieties such as sulfonium and iodonium mediate photo absorption, and then acids can be generated at the anionic moiety by following photolysis of the cationic moiety. TCI also offers several non-ionic photo-acid generators, because low solubility of ionic photo-acid generators is sometimes problematic.
Dopants for Organic Electronics Researches
Molecular dopants significantly increase the charge carrier density and modify the energy levels in organic electronics devices. As a result, p-type and n-type dopants listed on this page are applied to various organic electronics devices such as: carrier transport layers of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), perovskite solar cells (PSCs), and perovskite quantum dot LEDs, and active layers of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), OPVs, and thermoelectric devices in the field of organic electronics research.
Graphene/CNT Nanocomposite: Gmit®
Gmit® [G0620] is a graphene/CNT nanocomposite with a unique structure of graphene sheets sandwiching carbon nanotubes (CNTs). CNT acts as a spacer preventing the restacking of graphene sheets during the long-term usage. This unique structure is beneficial for industrial applications.
New Polyimide Raw Materials
Recently, high-performance polyimide films have gained increased attention. TCI has variety of polyimide raw materials for synthesizing various polyimides. Some carboxylic acid anhydride monomers and diamine monomers usable for the synthesis of polyimides are newly added to our product catalogue.
