- Electrophilic Sulfur Introducing Reagent
- Regioselective Benzylidene Acetal Protection of the β-Glucoside
- Condensation Using Di(N-succinimidyl) Carbonate

Highly Reactive Electrophilic Trifluoromethylating Reagent: Umemoto Reagent IV
The trifluoromethyl group is a strong electron-withdrawing group and it exhibits unique properties such as high electron negativity and hydrophobicity. As a result, efficient trifluoromethylating reagents are valuable in the research fields of bioactive compounds, agrochemicals and materials. Umemoto reagent IV [T4082] activated by trifluoromethoxy groups, strong electron-withdrawing groups has higher reactivity than a conventional series of Umemoto reagents. The trifluoromethylation of electron-deficient methylenes and nitrogen-containing aromatic rings proceeds with Umemoto reagent IV to give the corresponding target compounds.
Electrophilic Sulfur Introducing Reagent
Bis(phenylsulfonyl) sulfide [B3288] enables the construction of thiophene rings or sulfide bonds in rigid units by the reacting with a variety of nucleophiles such as aryl lithium under mild conditions. It is therefore a useful reagent and a synthetic equivalent of sulfur dichloride (SCl2), which is highly toxic and difficult to handle. In addition, benzenesulfinic acid, a by-product of the reaction, is soluble in water and can be easily removed by liquid separation.
TCI Practical Example: Regioselective Benzylidene Acetal Protection of the β-Glucoside
We are proud to present the regioselective benzylidene acetal protection at 4,6-hydroxy groups of glucose moiety in salicin by using benzaldehyde dimethyl acetal [B1197].
TCI Practical Example: Condensation Using Di(N-succinimidyl) Carbonate
TCI introduces the condensation reaction of 3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)propionic acid and 4-methylbenzylamine using di(N-succinimidyl) carbonate [D1662] as a condensing agent.Upcoming Events
