Exosome Research [Applications Using Glyco-materials]
Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) including exosomes are small vesicles composed of a lipid bilayer which are secreted from various cells under physiological and pathological conditions, and which can be found in body fluids and cell culture supernatants. EVs contain functional molecules such as nucleic acids and proteins, act as mediators of intercellular communication by entering the target cells, thus they are involved in many physiological responses and diseases. In addition, glycans exist on the surface of EVs as glycoproteins or glycolipids.1) Some of these glycans have been reported to involve in cancer metastases and tuning of EV uptake.2,3) We offer various reagents that support glycan-related applications in EV research.
