Arbidol Hydrochloride: A Broad-Spectrum Antiviral Agent against a Number of Enveloped and Non-Enveloped Viruses
Arbidol hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum antiviral agent against a number of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses. Arbidol prevents the entry of the virus into the cell and prevents the fusion of the virus with the host cell membrane. It has been reported that arbidol shows in vitro antiviral activities against not only influenza viruses and hepatitis C virus (HCV),1,2) but also Ebola virus 3) and SARS-CoV-2.4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
