Imidapril Hydrochloride: A Non-Sulfhydryl Group and Long-Acting ACE Inhibitor
Imidapril hydrochloride is an ethyl ester prodrug of the active metabolite imidaprilat. Imidapril is a long-acting and non-sulfhydryl group drug with fewer side effects angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor to suppress the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II and thereby reduce total peripheral resistance (TRP) and systemic blood pressure (BP).
