Lafutidine: A Histamine H2 Receptor Antagonist with Gastric Antisecretory and Gastroprotective Activities
Lafutidine (FRG-8813) is a histamine H2 receptor antagonist with gastric antisecretory and gastroprotective activities. It exhibits potent and long-lasting H2 antagonism and prolonged antisecretion. In addition, it shows gastroprotective effects (increased gastric mucosal blood flow and gastric mucus secretion) against gastric mucosal damage through capsaicin-sensitive afferent nerves.
