OCT4 Activator
OAC1 (1) was identified through high-throughput screening of a small molecule library as an OCT4-activating compound.1) 1 enhanced reprogramming efficiency of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. Furthermore, 1 was used for direct-reprogramming of mouse fibroblasts into functional astrocytes.2)
1 also enhanced ex vivo expansion of human umbilical-cord blood hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.3) Homeobox protein, HOXB4, is essential for the 1-mediated expansion.
