Application
Flumazenil: a potent benzodiazepine receptor antagonist
Flumazenil (code name Ro 15-1788) was first developed as an anti-anxiety agent in 1979. In subsequent studies have been demonstrated that flumazenil acts as a potent benzodiazepine receptor antagonist and a partial benzodiazepine receptor agonist. Flumazenil inhibits the central effects of benzodiazepine agonists by competing with these drugs for the benzodiazepine receptor. Then, flumazenil is used for the treatment of benzodiazepine overdoses. (The product is for research purpose only.)
