Flibanserin: A Multimodal Serotonergic Agent
Flibanserin is a multimodal serotonergic agent that has a preferential affinity for serotonin 5-HT1A, dopamine D4, and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. In vitro studies has suggested that flibanserin acts as a 5-HT1A agonist, a very weak partial agonist on dopamine D4 receptors, and 5-HT2A antagonist. And then, flibanserin is believed to show antipsychotic effects by increasing levels of dopamine and noradrenaline and lowering levels of serotonin in the brain. (The product is for research purpose only.)
